Van der Vlist UK, based in Hull, is seeking an Operations Co-ordinator to support a broad range of transport and logistics activities. You will coordinate national and international movements by road and sea, manage customs procedures, and maintain accurate records from order to delivery and invoicing.

What you'll be doing

As an Operations Co-ordinator, you'll be responsible for coordinating and supporting a wide range of transport and logistics activities. You'll work closely with customers, suppliers, authorities, and colleagues to ensure projects run smoothly from order confirmation through to successful delivery and invoicing.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
  • Processing customer orders and managing transport administration;
  • Coordinating national and international transport movements by road and sea;
  • Planning transport activities and maintaining the daily planning board;
  • Managing customs-related procedures and documentation;
  • Liaising with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and transport partners;
  • Raising and issuing transport documentation, proof of delivery, and invoices;
  • Updating operational reports, databases, and order records;
  • Investigating and planning suitable routes for wide-load and specialist transport movements;
  • Applying for permits and liaising with local authorities and police where required;
  • Obtaining and managing supplier documentation;
  • Supporting storage and technical logistics activities on site;
  • Assisting with the movement, loading, unloading, and coordination of machinery and equipment.

You will be given a high level of responsibility and ownership within the day-to-day transport operation. This is not purely an administrative role. It's a varied position where logistics, planning, customer service, and problem-solving come together.
