Job summary

Marie Flanigan Interiors seeks an organized Operations Coordinator to support our Houston studio’s purchasing and execution of luxury residential design projects. You will collaborate with designers, vendors, receivers, installers, and the accounting team to move projects from specification through installation.

Initially you’ll support senior team members, learning systems and processes, with progression toward managing your own projects from pricing to final installation.

Qualifications

  • 2-5+ years of experience in operations, purchasing, project coordination, or a related role.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and proactive follow-through.
  • Comfortable working with numbers, pricing, invoices, and purchase orders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare pricing proposals for furnishings, lighting, finishes, and accessories.
  • Create and process purchase orders.
  • Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers regarding pricing, availability, lead times, and order status.
  • Track orders from placement through delivery and installation.
  • Monitor production schedules and proactively resolve delays or issues.
  • Reconcile project purchases with the accounting team to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist with invoicing, deposits, freight charges, and project financial tracking.
  • Coordinate with warehouses, receivers, freight companies, and installers.
  • Assist in planning and executing luxury residential installations.
  • Maintain accurate project records within our internal systems.
  • Communicate regularly with designers and project teams regarding purchasing and project status.
  • Help improve operational workflows and maintain firm purchasing standards.

Marie Flanigan Interiorsis seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Operations Coordinator to join our Houston studio. We are looking for someone who thrives behind the scenes, enjoys solving logistical challenges, and takes pride in ensuring every project is executed with precision from pricing through installation.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys managing details, coordinating with vendors, tracking hundreds of moving pieces, and supporting a high-performing design team. While experience in luxury residential interior design is preferred, we are equally interested in candidates with exceptional organizational skills, strong follow-through, and a desire to grow within our firm.

About the Role

As an Operations Coordinator, you will support our Operations team in managing the purchasing and execution side of luxury residential interior design projects from our Houston studio. You'll work closely with designers, vendors, manufacturers, receivers, installers, and our accounting department to ensure projects move smoothly from specification through installation.

This position offers growth potential. Initially, you will support senior Operations team members, learning our systems and processes. Over time, you'll take ownership of your own projects, managing them from pricing and procurement through final installation.

Location: Houston, Texas (In-Office)
Time Requirement:30+ hours/week or Full-Time

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working for an interior design firm, architecture firm, or luxury residential builder.

  • Understanding of luxury furnishings, custom furniture, lighting, textiles, and finishes.
  • Experience coordinating installations or logistics.
