San Juan County Public Hospital District No. 1 seeks a Director of Outreach and Logistics / Captain to oversee assets, communications, responder equipment, and admin systems across the San Juan Islands.

The role involves backfilling as an EMT/Paramedic and supervising pre-hospital BLS/ALS responses under an Incident Command System. The position coordinates AHA Training Center activities, schedules CPR/FA and wilderness medicine courses, and ensures resource availability for certification

Qualifications

• Must be a Washington State EMT with three years of experience or a Washington State Paramedic with five years of experience.
• WA state certifications required and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, maintain, and track assets and communications equipment.
• Provide backfill and on-call EMT/Paramedic support for high acuity calls.
• Lead in-field operations under the Incident Command System during emergencies.
• Coordinate AHA Training Center activities, instructor rosters, and course scheduling.
• Mentor EMTs and Paramedics, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with MPD protocols.
