Job description

Location: Chicago (office-based)

Contract: Part-Time (hours vary weekly based on business needs; typically 2–4 days totalling 15–25 hours per week).

Start Date: As soon as possible

About STATSports:

Since 2008, we’ve grown from humble beginnings into the global leader in GPS performance tracking and analysis, trusted by the world’s biggest clubs, leagues, and athletes. Our technology sits at the intersection of hardware, software, and sport, helping teams optimize performance, reduce injury risk, and unlock insights that were previously impossible.

As part of our Chicago office team, you will work with current champions and help shape future champions, playing a vital role in some of the greatest sporting moments in history. And you’ll have fun doing it!

Innovation has always driven us forward, and it’s our people who make that happen.

The opportunity:

We are looking for a versatile Operations Assistant to join our US Operations team in Chicago. This is a dynamic, part-time role designed for a professional who thrives on wearing multiple hats and managing a wide range of operations, administrative, and support tasks.

Reporting directly to our operations, account, and performance directors, you will play a key part in helping develop STATSports US enterprises through multiple phases of growth. You’ll support our account managers and sales executives, ensuring our logistical and hardware testing operations run seamlessly. As our business expands in the US, you will have the opportunity to shape and grow this role accordingly.

If you’re detail-oriented, adaptable, passionate about sport, and love being close to the product, this role will suit you.

What you’ll be doing:

Operations:

  • Shipping & Receiving: Carry out consumer, amateur, and elite logistical tasks, including shipping equipment domestically and internationally, processing returns/exchanges, and relaying tracking information.

  • Equipment Testing & QA: Check in, test, and log returned equipment; identify and resolve faults; prepare refurbished units (reformatting, upgrading, cleaning); and assist with electronics recycling or HQ shipments.

  • Equipment Management: Maintain detailed logs of shipped and received items, ensure client orders are processed accurately, and manage event and demo shipments to ensure on-time delivery.

  • Stock Management: Track stock movements, assist with monthly counts, and liaise with HQ, US operations, sales, and account management teams regarding product availability and reordering.

  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with line managers to review operational procedures, identify inefficiencies, define system requirements, and implement improved solutions.

Administration:

  • Assist with day-to-day office upkeep and general operations.

  • Act as primary administrative support and a key point of contact for the US sales and account management teams.

What we’re looking for:

You’ll likely enjoy this role if you have:

  • At least 2 years of experience working in a sports operations environment.

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Teams, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

  • Exceptional organizational, planning, and time-management capabilities with high attention to detail.

  • A collaborative, service-oriented mindset with excellent interpersonal skills.

  • The ability to work independently, think creatively, follow processes, and make proactive decisions.

  • A strong background in sports organizations and a genuine passion for sport.

What’s in it for you:

  • Growth: Opportunity to transition into expanded or full-time roles within the business over time as the US market grows.

  • A key role in delivering high-quality sports technology used at the highest level of sport

  • Direct impact on the expansion of STATSports across the US market

  • Exposure to both logistical and administrative operations in a fast-paced environment

  • Collaboration with experienced directors, sales executives, and account managers

  • A team culture that values learning, ownership, and shared success

  • The chance to see your work support athletes and teams at the very top of their game
