Responsible for assisting with all operational tasks within the store as delegated and assigned by the Store Manager, focusing on the front-end and sales floor operations. Also assist with hiring, training, and developing store associates as delegated by the Store Manager.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assist with all store functions and daily activities as directed by the Store Manager.
  2. Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
  3. Assist in protecting and securing all company assets, including store cash.
  4. Adhere to all policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  5. Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
  6. Maintain all areas of the store, including stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
  7. When the Store Manager is not on the premises, have direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly associates.
  8. Process all SSC corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information, and other communications related to store activities as delegated by the Store Manager.
  9. Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies and procedures.
  10. Ensure proper staffing coverage daily in coordination with the Store Manager.
  11. Assist in ensuring the sales floor is sales-effective daily.
  12. Manage cashiering activities to ensure cash handling practices & guidelines are followed at all times.
  13. Oversee promotional displays and the effectiveness of store-front fixtures.
  14. Manage seasonal areas to maximize sales.
  15. Coordinate signage used in the store.
  16. Process damaged merchandise daily.
  17. Assist with creating weekly schedules.
  18. Manage store supplies and expense control.
  19. Assist with merchandising and maintaining checkout area for impulse sales.
  20. Refill coolers and store-front program racks/displays daily (e.g., balloons, sunglasses, batteries).

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  • Prefer prior retail and management experience.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
  • Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
