Responsible for assisting with all operational tasks within the store as delegated and assigned by the Store Manager, with a main focus on front-end and sales floor operations. Also assist with hiring, training, and developing store associates as delegated by the Store Manager.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Assist with all store functions and day-to-day store activities as directed by the Store Manager.
  2. Perform all opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
  3. Assist the Store Manager in protecting and securing all company assets, including store cash.
  4. Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
  5. Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
  6. Maintain all areas of the store, including the stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
  7. When the Store Manager is not on the premises, have direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly associates.
  8. Process all SSC Corporate directives including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and any additional communications related to store activities as delegated by the Store Manager.
  9. Assist the Store Manager with receipt and return of DSD merchandise.
  10. Follow the VIP and DSD Policies and Procedures.
  11. Assist the Store Manager in ensuring proper staffing coverage daily.
  12. Assist the Store Manager in ensuring the sales floor is sales-effective daily.
  13. Manage cashiering activities to ensure all cash handling practices & guidelines are followed by all associates.
  14. Enhance promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
  15. Manage sales effectiveness of seasonal areas.
  16. Coordinate store signage appropriately.
  17. Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise and process damaged merchandise daily.
  18. Assist Store Manager with creating weekly schedules.
  19. Manage store supplies and expense control.
  20. Assist with merchandising and maintaining checkout areas to maximize impulse sales.
  21. Ensure coolers and store-front program racks/displays are refilled daily (e.g., balloon program, sunglasses, batteries).

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  1. Prefer prior retail and management experience.
  2. Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
  3. Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
  4. Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
