Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities as directed by the Store Manager.
• Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Help protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
• Maintain store areas, including stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
• When the Store Manager is not present, have direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly associates.
• Process all corporate directives related to store activities, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, and Key Survey information.
• Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies.
• Ensure proper staffing coverage daily.
• Help ensure the sales floor is sales-effective daily.
• Manage cashiering activities to follow cash handling practices and guidelines.
• Coordinate store signage and manage seasonal displays for promotional effectiveness.
• Assist with receipt, return, and processing of damaged merchandise.
• Support the creation of weekly schedules and manage store supplies and expenses.
• Maintain checkout area to maximize impulse sales.
• Ensure coolers and displays are refilled daily, including programs like balloons, sunglasses, and batteries.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Prefer prior retail and management experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
