Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist with all store functions and day-to-day store activities as directed by the Store Manager.
2. Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
3. Help protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
4. Adhere to all policies and safety guidelines.
5. Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
6. Keep all areas of the store, including the stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
7. When the Store Manager is not present, have direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly Associates.
8. Process all SSC Corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information, and other store communications delegated by the Store Manager.
9. Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise following VIP and DSD Policies and Procedures.
10. Ensure proper staffing coverage daily.
11. Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective daily.
12. Manage cashiering activities to follow all cash handling practices and guidelines.
13. Optimize promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
14. Manage sales effectiveness of seasonal store areas.
15. Coordinate signage used in the store.
16. Process damaged merchandise daily.
17. Assist with weekly schedule creation.
18. Help manage store supplies and control expenses.
19. Assist with merchandising and maintaining checkout areas to maximize impulse sales.
20. Refill coolers and store-front displays daily (balloons, sunglasses, batteries, etc.).

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
