Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist with all store functions and daily activities as directed by the Store Manager.
2. Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
3. Help protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
4. Adhere to all policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
5. Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
6. Keep all areas of the store, including stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
7. When the Store Manager is not present, assume direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly associates.
8. Process all corporate directives related to store activities, such as Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, and Key Survey information.
9. Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies and procedures.
10. Ensure proper staffing coverage daily.
11. Maintain sales effectiveness of the sales floor and seasonal areas.
12. Manage cashiering activities to ensure adherence to cash handling guidelines.
13. Coordinate signage and manage store displays for promotional effectiveness.
14. Handle damaged merchandise daily.
15. Assist with creating weekly schedules and managing store supplies and expenses.
16. Maintain the checkout area to maximize impulse sales.
17. Refill coolers and program racks/displays daily, including balloon programs, sunglasses, batteries, etc.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Prefer prior retail and management experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
