Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist with all store functions and day-to-day store activities as directed by the Store Manager.
2. Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
3. Help protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
4. Adhere to all policies and safety guidelines.
5. Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, staff, and supervisors.
6. Keep all areas of the store, including the stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
7. When the Store Manager is not present, take supervisory responsibility for all hourly Associates.
8. Process all directives from SSC Corporate, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, and Key Survey information.
9. Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies.
10. Help ensure proper staffing coverage daily.
11. Assist in managing cashiering activities to follow all cash handling practices and guidelines.
12. Support promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
13. Manage seasonal store areas for sales effectiveness.
14. Coordinate store signage.
15. Handle damaged merchandise daily.
16. Assist with weekly schedule creation.
17. Support store supplies and expense management.
18. Assist with merchandising and checkout area maintenance to maximize impulse sales.
19. Ensure coolers and displays are replenished daily.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Prefer prior retail and management experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
