Responsible for assisting with all operational tasks within the store as delegated and assigned by the Store Manager, focusing on front-end and sales floor operations. Also assist with hiring, training, and developing store associates as delegated by the Store Manager.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and daily activities as directed by the Store Manager
• Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager
• Help protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to all policies and safety guidelines
• Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors
• Maintain store areas to company standards, including recovery of stockroom and sales floor
• When the Store Manager is absent, take supervisory responsibility for hourly Associates
• Process all SSC Corporate directives and related store activities
• Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies
• Ensure proper staffing coverage daily
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective daily
• Manage cashiering activities to follow cash handling practices & guidelines
• Manage promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness
• Oversee seasonal sales areas and signage
• Process damaged merchandise daily
• Assist in creating weekly schedules
• Manage store supplies and control expenses
• Maintain checkout area to maximize impulse sales
• Refill coolers and program racks/displays daily (e.g., balloons, sunglasses, batteries)

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Prefer prior retail and management experience
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport up to 50 lbs of merchandise
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment
