Job summary

The Ohio State University’s Schottenstein Center is seeking an Operations Assistant to support facility housekeeping, event setup and teardown, and general venue maintenance. Shifts include day, evening, and weekend hours in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include setting up and tearing down event spaces, cleaning, and maintaining offices and public areas. Final candidates may undergo background checks and post-offer drug screening or medical checks as required.

Qualifications

• Set up and tear down event spaces, meeting rooms, concourses, and other venue areas
• Perform housekeeping duties including trash removal, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and restroom upkeep
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of offices, locker rooms, training areas, meeting rooms, and public spaces
• Operate cleaning equipment and assist with basic facility maintenance tasks
• Background check required; a drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process

Operations Assistant## Department:Business Advancement | Schottenstein Center Operations Administration-JMThe Facility & Event Operations Assistants are responsible for: event setup and tear down, daily housekeeping and maintenance of locker rooms, meeting rooms, event spaces, administrative offices, and practice facilities at The Jerome Schottenstein Center. This position offers flexible hours including day, night, and weekend shifts. This position works with the Operations Department and provides the opportunity for advancement to outstanding individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, both individually and with a team.## Additional Information:As a Facility & Event Operations Assistant, you will help prepare, maintain, and recover the venue for a wide variety of events. This position combines facility housekeeping, event support, and event setup and teardown responsibilities to help ensure our guests, performers, athletes, and staff have a safe, clean, and enjoyable experience.**Primary Responsibilities**• Set up and tear down event spaces, meeting rooms, concourses, and other venue areas • Assist with facility preparation before events and post-event cleanup • Perform housekeeping duties including trash removal, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and restroom upkeep • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of offices, locker rooms, training areas, meeting rooms, and public spaces • Operate cleaning equipment and assist with basic facility maintenance tasks • Support operations during concerts, athletic events, and special events • Work independently and as part of a team to complete assigned responsibilities**Shifts Available****Daily Operations Shifts (Monday-Friday)** • 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM • 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM • 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM (3:00pm-7:00 PM during summer months)**Event Setup & Event Support Shifts** • Primarily evenings and weekends • Support event setups, event operations, facility preparations, event coverage, and post-event cleanup## Location:Schottenstein Center (0081)## Position Type:Intermittent## Scheduled Hours:0.2## **Shift:**Varying Shifts***Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check.
