Job summary

FLOW-X in California is seeking a logistics professional to manage end-to-end first-mile ocean export operations, including booking, cut-off, container release, pick-up, loading, return, and B/L confirmation.

You will coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, overseas warehouses, and last-mile teams to ensure smooth inbound and outbound movements, while handling documentation and cost settlement.

Responsibilities

• Handle end-to-end first-mile ocean export operations, including booking, cut-off, container release, pick-up, loading, return, and B/L confirmation.
• Match optimal sailing schedules, routes, and rates based on customer needs and cargo conditions.
• Coordinate closely with shipping lines, freight forwarders, trucking companies, and customs brokers.
• Track shipment status and handle exceptions such as rollovers, delays, re-routing, and destination port congestion.
• Coordinate first-mile ocean freight with overseas warehouse arrival, customs clearance, inbound appointment, and delivery.
• Follow up on destination customs clearance to ensure timely warehouse inbound.
• Work with overseas warehouse and last-mile teams to resolve inbound exceptions, damage, and shortage issues.
• Prepare and review first-mile shipping documents, including B/L, packing lists, invoices, customs documents, AMS/ISF, etc.
• Coordinate with customs brokers for export declaration, inspection, and customs queries.
• Ensure documentation compliance with origin and destination customs requirements to reduce inspection and hold risks.
• Verify first-mile ocean freight charges, including freight, surcharges, drayage, customs fees, and destination charges.
• Work with finance to complete AR/AP reconciliation and settlement.
• Assist in optimizing first-mile logistics costs and improving quotation competitiveness.
• Communicate with customers on shipment progress and handle inquiries and complaints.
• Maintain relationships with shipping lines, forwarders, trucking companies, customs brokers, and overseas warehouses.
• Support the sales team with first-mile ocean freight solutions and quotations.
• Maintain accurate operational data and system records for traceability.
• Assist in reviewing and improving first-mile ocean freight processes to enhance efficiency.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned.

3. Documentation & Customs
