Sentara Infusion Services in Charlottesville, VA seeks a licensed Pharmacist to oversee the medication-use system, ensure order appropriateness, and lead specialized operations in compounding, safety and quality control, while maintaining the highest patient care standards.

Responsibilities include staff training, precepting students or residents, implementing system initiatives, serving as site lead, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, with a 40-hour workweek in dayshift.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy is required.
• Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy is preferred.
• Valid Pharmacist License in State of Practice is required.
• BLS certification is required.

• The Operational Pharmacy Specialist p articipates in the medication-use system while delivering comprehensive and individualized pharmaceutical care to patients. Assumes local and system responsibility and accountability for specialized areas of pharmacy operations (e.g., compounding, drug diversion, quality, and safety).
• Ensures the appropriateness of all provider medication orders in maintaining a high level of patient care and safety
• Participates in the training of new employees and the development of training materials
• Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
• Precepts pharmacy students and/or pharmacy residents as assigned in operational oversight of area of practice
• Leads the implementation of various system initiatives at both local and system levels
• Serves as a system expert and site lead in specialized pharmacy operations in area of practice (e.g., compounding, drug diversion, quality, and or safety)
• Resource for the staff on operational issues related to pharmacy practice
• Additional duties may be assigned as needed
• May be responsible for pharmacist-in-charge (PIC) duties when applicable

Requirements

Education

• Bachelors Level Degree in Pharmacy (Required)
• Doctorate Level Degree in Pharmacy (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure

• Valid Pharmacist License in State of Practice (Required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)

Experience

• Previous Relevant Experience (Preferred)

Compensation

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $159,203.20 - $225,992.00 annually. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs. Note: If an annual salary is posted, it is based on a full-time colleague working 2,080 hours annually.
