Job summary

Austin Water seeks an IT Data Analyst to support its Operational Intelligence team by developing data products, validating data quality, and assisting with report and data model development.

The role combines data analysis with business systems analytical duties to improve data processes and enable informed decision making for operational and strategic initiatives at the City of Austin.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of related experience; experience may substitute education up to four years.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and data modeling, with experience in data visualization tools.
• Experience with ETL processes, data warehouses or data lakes, and analytics tooling.

Responsibilities

• Catalogs data sources and collaborates with City IT partners to understand data use and quality.
• Designs reporting dashboards to translate data into understandable formats.
• Performs initial data exploration, binning, pivoting, and correlation analysis.
• Provides ad hoc reporting and validates data quality for data pipelines and marts.
