Position Summary

The Operational Excellence Project Manager leads cross-functional initiatives to enhance efficiency, streamline processes, and foster continuous improvement, supporting Empower’s mission to deliver quality, affordable medications.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements project plans to achieve operational excellence, collaborating with stakeholders to prioritize improvements and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Monitors project progress, mitigates risks, and provides updates to senior management while ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Fosters continuous improvement by streamlining processes with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), workflows, value stream mapping, and training programs.
  • Enhances efficiency and eliminates waste through system improvements and process optimization.
  • Supports customer service by collaborating across departments, coaching team members, and assisting with dispensing or clerical duties when needed.

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Knowledge And Skills

  • Demonstrates exceptional communication, time management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize competing projects, act with professionalism, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Possesses expertise in project management software, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies, and the ability to quickly learn the organization’s pharmacy management system.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in a Lean Six Sigma or operational excellence environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, operations management, or related field.
  • Minimum Six Sigma Green Belt is preferred.
