Job summary

Victor Sierra Aviation is seeking an Operational Excellence Leader for a 24-month developmental assignment embedded with two operating companies, including Baldwin City, KS. You will drive lean transformations, mentor teams, and lock in improvements across production and support functions.

You’ll partner with site leaders, apply Kaizen, value stream mapping, and standard work, and report progress with clear metrics. Willingness to relocate and travel 25–50% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial/Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 3-5 years in manufacturing, engineering, or operations, preferably aerospace or regulated environment.
• Some leadership or informal team lead experience and desire to grow.
• Learn aerospace quality standards and regulatory requirements (FAA, AS9100, ISO).
• Strong problem-solving with measurable improvements in ops.
• Excellent communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate OPEX initiatives, Kaizen events and improvement projects.
• Drive safety, yield, productivity, and delivery performance improvements.
• Apply Lean and Six Sigma tools (3P, VSM, 5S, A3, SMED, Standard Work, Kanban, RCA, Visual Management).
• Improve flow, capacity utilization and eliminate bottlenecks end-to-end.
• Coach and mentor employees on OPEX practices and problem solving.
• Develop OPEX capabilities and support certification programs.
• Lead culture transformation to drive ownership and discipline.
