Job summary

Maersk is seeking an Operational Excellence Manager to lead the deployment of Lean and continuous improvement across the US Area, partnering with Area leaders to embed The Maersk Way Operating System and drive measurable improvements in safety, quality, and cost.

You will coach leaders, run Kaizen events, and build capability through training, tool deployment, and coaching, ensuring sustained improvements and a strong ROI for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a Lean or continuous improvement role with Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of Maersk products or operations is a plus.
• A coach first: proven ability to teach and mentor leaders and frontline teams to use Lean tools.
• Confident to lead Kaizen or improvement events and empower teams to own results.
• Experience leading Lean transformation and change management with measurable ROI impact.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills to influence without direct authority.
• Comfort with digital tools, including MS Office, Visio and AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Support the rollout and adoption of The Maersk Way Operating System across the US Area.
• Coach leaders and colleagues to reach business goals using operational excellence methods.
• Build capability through training sessions, tool deployment, and follow-up coaching to ensure sustainability of improvements.
• Lead or support A3 problem solving, Kaizen events and other Lean initiatives when needed.
• Assess adoption progress and identify areas for further development.
• Partner with stakeholders to drive measurable improvements in safety, quality, and cost through The Maersk Way.
• Report rollout progress, improvement results and ROI to stakeholders.
