Job summary

CRH Americas Building Products is seeking an Operational Excellence Manager (Finance) to lead lean manufacturing and capital project initiatives across the Mid-Atlantic region. This role travels 75–90% to sites in NC, PA, CT, and NY, driving profitability and process improvements.

You will partner with Production, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and EH&S to translate operational needs into project plans, develop business cases, and mentor plant teams in kaizen and 5S methodologies.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of manufacturing experience ideally in precast or similar industries.
• Applied lean manufacturing methodologies to support continuous production operations.
• Experience with quality control in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate and improve production methods utilizing lean tools and quality standards.
• Identify opportunities for improvement at regional locations with operations/sales teams.
• Provide training and mentoring to plant-level teams on lean initiatives.
• Drive process change with hands-on communication and coordination with plant teams.
• Optimize plant layout and flow to reduce inefficiencies and costs.
• Lead plant improvement workshops to diagnose bottlenecks and implement solutions.
• Provide kaizen, 5S training and lean tools education.
• Track improvements and ensure completion as planned.
• Translate operational needs into project requirements and specs.
• Develop and analyze capital project proposals; perform ROI analysis.
• Support leadership in prioritizing high-value investment opportunities.
• Manage project commitments and expenditures within budget; ensure governance.
• Ensure compliance with Operational Excellence framework across plants.
