Job summary

Hexcel in Amesbury, MA is seeking an Operational Excellence Intern to support performance improvement, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives within the ARC production environment. You will learn Lean, Six Sigma, and data-driven problem-solving to boost throughput and reduce defects.

You will partner with Production, Quality, Supply Chain and Engineering to identify gaps, standardize processes, create SOPs, conduct time studies, and coach technicians in CI techniques.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (required).
• Strong interest in continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Basic knowledge or coursework in Lean and/or Six Sigma.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support Lean deployment and facilitate initiatives across factory areas.
• Assist in standardization; help create SOPs, work instructions, and training materials.
• Coach technicians on Lean principles; participate in Gemba walks and meetings.
• Identify cost savings via waste reduction, yield improvement, and process efficiency.
