Job summary

ProAmpac in Westfield, MA is offering a Summer 2027 Intern position as a Continuous Improvement Engineer to learn from and contribute to our Corporate Operational Excellence Team. You will shadow site leadership, apply lean concepts on the shop floor, and help reduce waste while improving efficiency.

The role focuses on deploying continuous improvement practices across a manufacturing site, with strong emphasis on data analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and developing problem-solving

Qualifications

• Two or three years of college completed with classes already taken in lean manufacturing, six sigma, and/or industrial systems or equivalent work experience in a continuous improvement role.
• Excellent English language fluency is a must, additional language capabilities are a strong plus.
• Interest in continuous improvement and pursuing a related degree in engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvement projects across the site.
• Support identification and application of best practices, operating standards, and metrics.
• Support deploying Managing for Daily Improvement as the lean management system across the site.
• Support facilitating the identification, prioritization, preparation, execution, and follow up on CI initiatives across the site.
• Conduct frequent operational data analysis and reviews to support identification and prioritization process for CI activities.
• Execute an audit program to ensure proper deployment and sustainment of all CI activities.
• Actively build and maintain effective working relationships with operations and business leaders at all levels.
• Support the maintenance of the site's CI Plan.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), Visio, and Outlook email and calendar capabilities.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Ability to organize and conduct data analysis on operational data.
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, and presentations) with executive leadership, staff, and internal and external clients.
• Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options.
• Self-confident, self-motivated polished professional who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
