Job summary

Marquette General Hospital is seeking an OR Technician to join the surgical services team in Marquette, MI. This full-time role supports the OR by preparing instruments, assisting the surgeon, and ensuring sterile technique throughout procedures.

The successful candidate will have at least a high school diploma, surgical tech training preferred, and basic life support certification; prior experience is valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a surgical technology program preferred.
• Minimum of 6 months prior experience in another facility.
• Certification from clinicals completed; BCLS required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain surgical instruments in the OR suite and assist the surgical team during procedures.
• Understand procedures being performed and anticipate surgeon needs by passing instruments and supplies during the procedure.
• Transport to decontamination room after completion of the surgical procedure.
• Handle instruments and supplies correctly and ensure their proper functioning.
• Maintain instruments in good working order and ensure availability for all surgical cases.
• Maintain sterile field and counts for all instruments, sponges, needles, etc.
