Specialists Hospital in Shreveport, LA is seeking a Surgical Technician (ORT) to prepare supplies, assist the surgeon, and maintain a sterile field during surgeries. This full-time day shift role emphasizes teamwork with RNs and ongoing instrument processing.

The ORT will manage inventory, support decontamination/reprocessing of instruments, and help with environmental cleaning and patient transfers as needed.

Qualifications

• Certification as a surgical technologist or equivalent.
• CPR certification.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced operating room.
• Strict adherence to sterile technique.

Responsibilities

• Prepare supplies, equipment and instrumentation for each surgery.
• Assist surgeon and assistants within the sterile field.
• Maintain facility inventory and decontaminate/reprocess instruments.
• Scrub, gown and organize instrumentation; ensure sterility.
• Assist with patient transfer and post-op setup/cleanup.
