Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program is required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred or eligible for certification.
• Knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and operating room procedures.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills are essential.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms with necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies before procedures.
• Establish and maintain a sterile field throughout surgery.
• Pass instruments, sutures, and supplies to surgeons during procedures.
• Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts according to policy.
• Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, and draping.
• Ensure surgical equipment is functioning properly before and during procedures.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team.
• Maintain compliance with infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Assist with room turnover and preparation for subsequent cases.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to promote optimal patient outcomes.
