Job summary

Montclair Hospital Medical Center, part of Prime Healthcare, is seeking an Operating Room Technician to prepare sterile supplies and maintain a sterile field during procedures. The role includes providing instruments to surgeons and ensuring readiness for each case.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, ORT training or equivalent, and BLS. The position is full-time with daytime shifts and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required for new hires.
• Graduate of an ORT training program or on-the-job training with a minimum of 3 years experience (surgical setting preferred).
• Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in generalized surgical specialties (e.g., GYN, General, Plastics).
• Experience scrubbing in specialty areas (e.g., ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro).
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Responsibilities

• The Operating Room Tech is responsible for the preparation of sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure, maintaining sterile field during case and providing surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures.
