Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist for Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in the Surgery Room. This full-time role supports the RN with instrument care, patient safety, and efficient perioperative workflow.

Work hours are 40 per week, Monday through Friday 0645-1515 with rotating weekends and additional weekly call shift. Requires Graduation from a Surgical Technology program and BCLS certification; specialty certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a Surgical Technology program.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
• Certification in specialty area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures quality patient care, safety, and advocacy through critical thinking and management of case-specific needs under RN supervision.
• Ensures complete, accurate and timely care, cleanliness and management of instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Communicates to the team, co-workers, and patients in a professional manner.
• Takes personal responsibility and initiative for performance and development.
• Demonstrates cost containment activities of instruments and inventory.
