Job summary

CCMC Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, WV seeks a Surgical Tech to provide intraoperative scrub support in the operating room. The role supports the surgical team, ensuring aseptic technique and proper instrumentation handling.

A sign-on bonus is available for this position. The ideal candidate will have surgical tech training or equivalent experience, with BLS certification within 30 days of hire and the ability to work three 12-hour shifts with rotating call.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse, completion of a Surgical Technology program, completion of a Registered Nurse program, or completion of summer surgical tech extern program OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and two (2) years of previous scrub experience.
• Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes quality aseptic technique in the OR.
• Assists circulating RN to maintain a sterile field by monitoring technique.
• Performs sponge, instrument, and needle counts with the circulating RN.
• Assists with gowning and gloving surgeons and positioning equipment and instruments.
• Passes sterile instruments to the surgical team during procedures.
• Assists with transportation and positioning of patients and holding retractors.
• Prepares supplies and equipment for procedures and follows preference cards.
• Assists with sterilization and maintenance of supplies/equipment.
• Monitors inventory and restocks supplies and equipment.
• Removes out-of-date items and reprocesses per guidelines.
• Assists with general department cleaning.
• Performs equipment checks as assigned.
• Records patient charges.
