Job summary

Stormont Vail HealthCare in Topeka, KS is seeking an OR Assistant to support the Pre-op, Operating Room, PACU, EP Lab, and Hybrid OR. You will assist the surgical team, transport patients under RN direction, and help maintain sterile technique and supply readiness.

The role requires CNA certification or related experience, strong reading comprehension, and the ability to work in a fast-paced clinical setting. This is a full-time, on-site position with a 12-hour day shift and a 36-hour workweek.

Qualifications

• Possesses the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

• Set up oxygen delivery and vital sign monitors for patient care during transport.
• Verify patient location with inpatient unit/floor.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas and OR rooms; prepare requisitions and restock as needed.
• Assist with turnover between procedures and maintain sterile technique as directed by RN and Technologist.
• Interpret the schedule board for case starts and patient transportation needs.
• Communicate pertinent patient information to staff in a timely manner; manage Vocera operations.
