Job summary

The Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center, part of Legacy Health, is seeking an Operating Room Assistant to help keep the surgical environment safe, clean, and orderly. You will support the medical team, transport materials, and maintain OR readiness for procedures.

Responsibilities include assisting nursing staff, moving specimens, housekeeping, stocking supplies, and patient transport. This role requires flexibility, including weekend shifts, to meet patient care needs.

Qualifications

• Must be able to give and receive verbal and written instructions in English and perform basic computations.
• Must be able to work well with other team members.
• Must be able to perform duties independently with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to quickly perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be willing and able to work alternate shifts (including weekends) and overtime to meet the demands and needs of patient care and the department.
• Current BLS for Provider certification required.
• CNA or other clinical/surgical certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support nursing staff as part of the surgical team to ensure safe and efficient patient care.
• Transport blood, specimens, and other materials within Surgical Services.
• Perform housekeeping duties to maintain cleanliness in operating rooms and surrounding areas.
• Stock supplies and maintain overall orderliness of assigned department spaces.
• Assist with patient transportation as needed.
• Complete additional errands and support tasks as assigned to facilitate smooth departmental operations.
