Job summary

Adventist Health Portland is seeking an Environmental Services Assistant to support our surgical services in Portland, OR. You will prepare operating rooms, restock linens, manage waste and assist with room turnover according to established standards.

Required: High School/GED; CPR/BLS certification; HAZMAT preferred; prior environmental services experience preferred; 8-hour evening shift with per diem assignment and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Education/GED or equivalent required.
• Previous environmental services experience preferred.
• Hazardous Materials Training (HAZMAT) certification: Preferred
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required

Responsibilities

• Prepares operating rooms for first case of the day by ensuring bed is made, restocking linens in room, placing trash, linen, and biohazard bags in appropriate containers.
• Assists in transportation of equipment/supplies to and from rooms, ensuring proper handling and storage. Orders/restocks supplies as assigned.
• Ensures instruments, equipment and items belonging to the hospital are maintained.
• Completes unit-specific required competency assessment and continuing education activities.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
