Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year hospital experience in CNA, Surgical Transport, CSS, or Instrument Technician.
• Understanding of anatomy and medical terminology desired.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient transportation throughout the surgical suite.
• Notifies appropriate personnel of patient arrivals to ensure continuity of care.
• Assists with transfer of patient from table to gurney or bed after procedures.
• Assists the nurse and anesthesiologist with transporting patients to Recovery Room.
• Assists with prepping the operative site and maintaining aseptic technique.
• Assists with between-case cleanup and setup for following cases.
• Moves equipment and supplies, ensuring safety and proper function of items like microscopes and video systems.
• Serves as an additional resource in patient care as procedures require.
• Supports the anesthesia department by stocking and maintaining carts.
• Inventories and stocks operating rooms with supplies as assigned.
• Participates in training of new personnel and staff development activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
