Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare in Los Angeles is seeking a Surgical Support Aide to assist the operating rooms and Post Anesthesia Recovery Room. Under RN supervision, you will transport patients, prep rooms, and support the surgical team.

The role emphasizes aseptic technique, safe patient handling, and equipment setup, including but not limited to microscopes and video towers. A high school diploma and BLS are required, with 1 year of hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year hospital experience in CNA, Surgical Transport, CST, or Instrument Technician.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient transportation throughout the surgical suite.
• Notifies appropriate personnel of patient arrival to ensure continuity of care.
• Assist with transfers from the surgical table to a gurney or bed after procedures.
• Assist the nurse and anesthesiologist with transporting patients to Recovery Room.
• Support aseptic prep and setup, maintaining proper technique.
• Assist with between-case clean up and setup for following cases.
