Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Surgical Support Aide to assist in the operating rooms and Recovery Room. Under supervision of a registered nurse, you will perform tasks to support clinical operations, transport patients, prep procedures, and maintain sterile rooms.

The role requires at least 1 year hospital experience as a CNA or related, and a current BLS certification. Local travel is not required and the position is full-time.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year hospital experience as CNA, Surgical Transport, or related.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient transportation throughout the surgical suite.
• Assist with transfers of patient from surgical table to gurney or bed.
• Support anesthesia by stocking carts and assisting as needed.
• Prepare operating rooms and ensure aseptic technique.
• Clean, move equipment and set up for following cases between procedures.
• Participate in training and staff development activities.
