Job summary

Mount Sinai is seeking a Surgical Care Assistant to support the Operating Room, Post Anesthesia Care Unit and Preoperative Services. You will help prepare scrub areas, manage supplies, and assist in patient transport and positioning.

You will maintain cleanliness and organization of stock rooms, assist with room turnover, and ensure equipment and supplies are ready for procedures while following safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care of Scrub Areas and Clean Utility Rooms: replenish supplies and maintain cleanliness.
• Maintain blood bank and drug refrigerators: monitor temperatures daily.
• Distribute processed instrument sets and supplies; keep storage clean and organized.
• Care of Special Surgical Equipment and Supplies; monitor stock levels.
• Transport pre- and post-operative patients to appropriate areas and ensure patient safety.
• Assist in cleaning ORs and supporting room turnover processes.
