Job summary

Mount Sinai is seeking Surgical Care Assistants to support operating room, post-anesthesia care, and preoperative services. Responsibilities include maintaining sterile areas, decontaminating equipment, managing stock, handling specimens, and assisting in patient transport and care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Prefer relevant experience in an inpatient health care setting.

Responsibilities

• Care of Scrub Areas and Clean Utility Rooms per guidelines.
• Decontamination of Surgical Equipment per Infection Control guidelines.
• Care of Special Surgical Equipment, Instruments and Supplies.
• Care of Soiled Utility Rooms and Linen Storage areas.
• Maintenance of Floor Stock, Equipment, Supplies and Solutions.
• Care of Specimens with proper documentation.
• Patient Care including vital signs and safe handling of patients.
• Transportation of Pre- and Post-operative patients and equipment.
