Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is seeking an OR Liaison with sterile processing experience to coordinate daily activities between the Operating Room and Sterile Processing Department. You will ensure efficient case flow, monitor instrument turnaround, and document issues with tracking systems.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and a Sterile Processing Certification within 12 months of hire, plus 3 years in a sterile processing or OR environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certification in Sterile Processing within 12 months of hire.
• 3 years of experience in sterile processing or OR environments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily activities between OR and SPD to ensure efficient case flow.
• Review surgery schedule and communicate instrument needs to SPD to prevent delays.
• Document tray errors, case cart audits, and instrument issues in the tracking system; share findings with SPD leadership.
• Monitor case flow and coordinate instrument turnaround for high-demand or urgent cases.
• Develop strong relationships with OR clinicians to promote collaboration and efficiency.
