Job summary

HUMBLE VASCULAR SURGICAL CENTER INC in Durango, CO seeks an OR Surgical Technician to prepare and maintain instruments and supplies for surgical procedures, and to assist with surgical patient care under RN/physician supervision.

Responsibilities include verifying case materials, maintaining sterile field, counts, draping, and assisting the perioperative team. Requires High School Diploma, CPR certification, and 2 years surgical experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certification; DORA registered.
• 2 years surgical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains medical equipment, instruments and supplies for surgical procedures.
• Assists with surgical patient care under the direction of an RN or physician.
• Verifies supplies, equipment and instruments are ready before procedures and completes checklists.
• Maintains sterile field and uses sterile technique during surgeries.
• Performs instrument, sharps and sponge counts and reports discrepancies.
• Assists with draping the patient and establishing the sterile field.
• Operates and troubleshoots operating room equipment as needed.
• Performs room turnover and supports infection control and safety standards.
