Job summary

Memorial Hospital in Charleston, WV is seeking a Surgical Controller for the Operating Room to manage scheduling, data, and team support. You will coordinate, communicate, process, and schedule all OR cases while ensuring efficient workflow and accurate record-keeping.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED with at least 6 months in hospital information systems or medical terminology, and is a full-time on-site position at Memorial Hospital. Negotiable salary.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 6 months hospital information systems experience or 6 months medical terminology.
• Demonstrated ability to obtain and interpret information for patient needs and to support surgical services.

Responsibilities

• Arrange, change, and/or cancel elective, add-on, and emergency OR schedules and communicate with staff.
• Maintain efficient flow of Operating Room schedules and prepare 6 week call schedules.
• Maintain daily logs and specimen records and prepare Excel surgical reports.
• Coordinate with physicians and nurses to add/cancel cases and ensure proper supplies.
• Assist with inbound/outbound communications and support operations in the control desk.
