Job summary

HCA Florida JFK North Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Operating Room in West Palm Beach, FL. You will evaluate patients pre-operatively and educate families about procedures, while ensuring safe patient preparation and verification steps.

RNs must hold Florida licensure (or Compact Licensure), current BLS/ACLS/PALS, and have at least one year of acute care OR experience. On-call duties are required, and the hospital emphasizes teamwork with surgeons and staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Florida RN license or Compact Licensure.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Minimum of one year acute care RN experience in an Operating Room.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification, including briefing, time out, debriefing, and universal protocols, according to hospital policy.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while applying evidence-based practices.
