Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room on the Night shift (Full-Time, 6:30pm - 7:00am). The RN will deliver professional nursing care per physicians' plans to ensure patient comfort and safety, while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team and orienting new staff.

The role requires assessing patient needs, planning and implementing treatment plans, documenting observations, and supporting discharge planning and family education.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient health data with involvement of patient, family and other providers.
• Perform initial assessment based on patient presentation.
• Document plan of care and updates; ensure continuity of care.
• Incorporate discharge planning into admission process and goals.
• Collaborate with team to develop and implement care plans.
• Provide patient/family education and support throughout care.
