The Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional who coordinates patient care using the BSWH nursing model. The RN assesses the patient and identifies nursing diagnoses, develops an individualized care plan, and evaluates the patient’s response to care to promote safe passage through the surgical experience.

The RN demonstrates clinical judgment, advocacy, and collaboration with the surgical team to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• 1 yr of OR RN experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsabilités

• Assess patient conditions using nursing process and develop care plans.
• Coordinate patient care and transitions to ensure safety.
• Delegate interventions based on patient condition and act within the Texas Nursing Practice Act.
• Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and staff.
