Job summary

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist's Operating Room is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to support a fast-paced Level 1 Trauma center with access to 40 OR suites and Brenner Children’s Hospital operations for pediatric to adult care.

The role emphasizes patient assessment, nursing process, safety, and teamwork. Requires active RN license and BLS; BSN preferred with 1 year of clinical nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active registered nurse license with privileges to practice
• BLS certification (Basic Life Support)

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care and apply evidence-based practices.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care with patients and families.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team to influence outcomes.
• Upholds and promotes a culture of safety.
• Continuously evaluates patient, team, and unit outcomes and takes action as needed.
• May administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely per clinical protocols.
• Demonstrates effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution, fostering team collaboration and delegation.
• Pursues professional development and maintains certifications.
• Adheres to the ANA Code of Ethics and ethical decision-making for integrated patient care.
• Delegates appropriately to RNs, LPNs, and unlicensed assistive personnel.
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May float to other units within the service area to meet patient care needs.
• Ensure care is appropriate to age-specific needs and develop accordingly.
