Job summary

Jefferson Health in Abington, PA is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room. This full-time Day shift position offers four 10-hour shifts; prior OR circulating and scrubbing experience preferred.

You will provide patient- and family-centered care, develop individualized plans of care, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote safe, compassionate, and high‑quality perioperative services. Active PA RN license, BSN preferred, and BLS required.

Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Knowledge of patient- and family-centered care.
• Cultural awareness in diverse patient populations.
• Effective communication with patients, families, and team members.
• Knowledge of patient assessment and care.
• Education for patients and families on conditions, treatments and medications.
• Knowledge of discharge planning and post-discharge needs.
• Knowledge of nursing assessment, diagnosis and clinical judgement.
• Documentation of health information.
• BLS certified by the American Heart Association.
• RN licensed in PA.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients, families, and staff to deliver values-based care.
• Identify learning needs with patients and families and provide education.
• Use information systems to communicate and monitor care outcomes.
• Work within inter-professional teams to ensure safe, compassionate care.
• Promote learning and professional development and act as a preceptor when needed.
• Participate in hospital committees and quality improvement initiatives.
