Job summary

MercyOne Genesis, part of Trinity Health, seeks an Operating Room Registered Nurse to provide intraoperative patient care in scrub and circulating roles. The position serves a diverse patient population across a large regional area, with a strong commitment to mission and patient safety.

Essential functions include independent case participation, efficient case preparation, aseptic technique, and effective communication with staff and families.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license; license in IA or IL required at hire; second state license within 12 months.
• Operating Room experience preferred.
• American Heart Association BLS required.
• Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
• Demonstrates honesty, integrity and caring aligned with Trinity Health values.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs and circulates on cases independently with minimal direction.
• Prepares for surgical cases efficiently, anticipating needs of patient, surgeon and team.
• Maintains aseptic technique and safe environment for patient and staff.
• Communicates effectively with patient, staff, physicians and families.
• Keeps equipment setup knowledge current and supports room turnover.
• Involves in orientation and training of new personnel.
