Job summary

MercyOne Genesis seeks an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse to provide perioperative patient care, both in scrub and circulating roles, across neonatal to geriatric patients in a high-demand setting.

The role includes full-time exempt status with on-call coverage Sunday PM to Friday AM and a weekly base salary commitment, with pay-period shift scheduling at management discretion.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license (MercyOneGenesis - current RN license in Iowa or Illinois) required at time of hire; secondary license must be obtained within 12 months.
• Minimum of 2 years Operating Room experience required.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter – Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within 3 months of hire.
• Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
• Must possess a personal presence characterized by honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote MercyOne/Trinity Health values.

Responsibilities

• Assists in scrub and circulator roles on cases independently with minimal direction.
• Prepares for surgical cases efficiently, anticipating needs of patient, surgeon, anesthesia, and OR team.
• Maintains a safe environment by adhering to aseptic technique and safety standards.
• Collects and analyzes patient data to support nursing diagnoses.
• Communicates effectively with patient, staff, physicians, and families.
• Initiates and directs room turnover and cleanup and participates in orientation/training of new personnel.

Education

Associate degree in nursing
