Research Medical Center in Kansas City is seeking an experienced RN in the Operating Room to provide high-quality perioperative care and participate in surgical workflows. The role supports patient education, safety protocols and interdisciplinary collaboration during procedures.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date.
• RN – Registered Nurse licensure.
• No travel required.
• No experience required

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the peri-operative process.
• Prepare patient for surgery including intravenous therapy and preoperative medications.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while following evidence-based practices.
• Be integral to a dynamic interdisciplinary team including providers, surgeons and techs.
• Consistently apply nursing process and critical thinking to deliver safe care.
• Assess patient condition, monitor and document changes throughout shift.
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment and follow-up.
