Job summary

Research Medical Center in Overland Park, KS is seeking an experienced RN for our Operating Room. You will evaluate patients pre-surgery, educate families, and manage peri-operative care including IV therapy and medications.

You will participate in site verification, briefings, and debriefings while ensuring patient safety and workflow efficiency. RNs join a collaborative team with a culture of respect, access to advanced equipment, and ongoing opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse licensed to practice.
• BCLS/CPR must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative medications.
• Assist with surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care in peri-operative settings.
• Collaborate with a dynamic interdisciplinary team.
• Apply nursing process and leadership to patient care.
• Assess patient condition and document changes during shift.
• Educate patients and families about medical conditions and follow-up measures.
