Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years OR nursing experience

• Current Kansas RN license or compact
• BLS required; ACLS preferred

Responsibilities

• Circulate for orthopedic surgical cases (total joints, arthroscopy, spine, foot/ankle, hand)
• Pre-operative patient assessment and site marking per protocol
• Maintain sterile technique and organized OR
• Coordinate with surgeon, scrub tech and team
• Document intraoperative care and implants
• Turnover between cases and cleaning to meet infection control standards
• Assist with specimen handling and equipment management
• Ensure smooth PACU handoff using SBAR

The OR RN functions as a circulator, ensuring patient safety, infection control, and efficient case flow in a fast-paced ASC environment, and shares responsibility for turning over the OR and cleaning between cases.This is a full-time position.ResponsibilitiesCirculate for orthopedic surgical cases (total joints, arthroscopy, spine, foot/ankle, hand/wrist, etc.)Perform pre-operative patient assessment, verification, and site marking confirmation per protocolMaintain sterile technique and a safe, organized OR environmentManage surgical positioning, including specialty positioning for joint proceduresAnticipate surgeon needs and coordinate with scrub tech and surgical teamAccurately document intraoperative care, implants, and supplies used (including implant log/tracking for joint replacements)Manage specimen handling and labelingMonitor patient status and hemodynamics throughout the procedureCoordinate with PACU for smooth patient handoff using SBARParticipate in surgical counts (sponge, sharps, instrument) per policyEnsure proper handling and turnover of orthopedic equipment (power tools, C-arm, tourniquets, traction devices)Perform or oversee OR turnover between cases, including terminal cleaning of surfaces, equipment, and the surgical suite to meet infection control and case-time standardsMaintain compliance with AORN/TJC/state ASC accreditation and infection control standardsExperience/Education/Licensing.Minimum 2 years OR nursing experience required; orthopedic/ASC experience strongly preferredExperience with total joint replacement instrumentation and implants a plusCurrent Kansas RN license (or compact license)Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in NursingBLS required; ACLS preferredCNOR certification preferredPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periods, lift/position patients (up to 50 lbs. with assistance), and work in a fast-paced surgical environment, including room turnover and cleaning duties between cases.We provide a robust benefits package, including:Rich PTO Accruals6 company paid holidaysFull benefits package including medical, dental and vision401(k) with a company matchEmployer paid life insurance and long term disabilityMany other voluntary benefits available
