Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse to join our surgical team. As an OR RN, you will play a crucial role in providing safe and effective perioperative care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. Your expertise in surgical nursing, attention to detail, and ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations will be vital in ensuring successful surgical outcomes and patient satisfaction. As a member of our healthcare team, you will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional care in the operating room.

Responsibilities:

Preoperative Preparation:

  • Review patients' medical history, medications, and preoperative instructions to ensure their readiness for surgery.
  • Verify surgical consents and complete preoperative assessments, including vital signs and baseline assessments.

Intraoperative Care:

  • Prepare the operating room, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and sterile.
  • Assist in positioning and preparing the patient for surgery.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to maintain aseptic techniques and a sterile environment throughout the procedure.
  • Administer medications, anesthesia, and intravenous fluids as directed by the anesthesia provider.

Patient Advocacy and Support:

  • Provide emotional support to patients and their families during the preoperative and intraoperative phases.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and addressing any concerns they may have.
  • Monitor patients' postoperative recovery, assessing vital signs, pain levels, and surgical site condition.
  • Assist in transferring patients to the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) and provide a comprehensive handoff report.

Documentation and Compliance:

  • Accurately document all perioperative care, including preoperative assessments, intraoperative interventions, and postoperative progress notes.
  • Comply with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines to ensure patient safety and maintain a safe operating room environment.

Working Environment: As an OR Registered Nurse, you will work in the operating room within a hospital or surgical center. The role may involve rotating shifts, including days, evenings, and occasional weekends, to accommodate surgical schedules. Qualifications
