Job summary

Centrum Surgery Center in San Antonio, TX, seeks a Radiologic Technologist OR PRN to prepare and operate radiographic, X-ray, and fluoroscopic equipment for diagnostic purposes under physician supervision.

The role requires ARRT certification, Texas MRT license, and BLS. Responsibilities include maintaining sterile fields, protecting patients from radiation, and ensuring timely image delivery to EMR. Prior OR experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or Associates Degree in Radiology Studies.
• Licensed by the Medical State Board of Texas as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT).
• Certified by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certified.
• Two (2) years of radiology experience in a healthcare facility (with one year in the operating room).

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile field in the operating room.
• Ensure materials and equipment are present and in working order.
• Adjust kilovoltage and milliamperage to prescribed exposure specifications.
• Minimize radiation exposure with protection techniques.
• Position patient and equipment for optimal X-ray.
• Examine X-ray for image clarity and retake as needed.
• Transfer images to EMR and distribute films.
• Conduct QC checks on X-ray unit standards.
• Schedule repairs and minor equipment adjustments.
• Maintain imaging procedure quality per standards.
• Report safety hazards promptly.
• Communicate hazards to team and management.
• Protect patient privacy per HIPAA policy.
• Follow safety rules and company conduct.
